One of my favourite quotes, attributed to Confucius:

"𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀, 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿."

Run rabbit, run.

Most business leaders find it hard to chase just one.

·      They set too many goals.

·      They run too many projects at once.

·      And they wonder why nothing finishes.

Steve Jobs put it best: focus isn't saying yes to the thing you're working on. It's saying no to the hundred other good ideas. He was as proud of what Apple didn't do as what it did.

So why do so many leaders seem to have ADD? A new rabbit appears, and off they go — while the vital few things that drive future success sit untouched.

Busyness is not the same as a good business.

And multitasking? It's an illusion. 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧'𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧. 𝐉𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟐𝟓% 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐤.

You'll get far more done doing "𝟏 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠".at a time, in a burst of intensely focused energy.

There is never enough time to get everything done. So spend your time on the few things that matter, not the many that don't.

𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 "𝟏 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠".

Ask yourself this: if you could only achieve ONE thing this week to move each goal forward — what would it be?

Peter Drucker recommended blocking 4 hours of uninterrupted time in your diary every week to work solely on that 1 Thing. He believed the discipline was critical to getting the important things done.

Your job as a leader is to make sure the "𝟏 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠".is clear every week — for every goal, and for every person.

Then hold them accountable to stay on it until it's done.

Stop chasing 2 rabbits.

Achieve more by doing less.
